1. Presentation of ETNIC

ETNIC (Entreprise pour les Technologies de l’Information et de la Communication) is the IT operator of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles. As a public interest organization, ETNIC’s mission is to design, develop, maintain, and evolve information systems and technological infrastructures serving the administrations and institutions of the FWB.

A central player in the digital transformation of the French-speaking Belgian public sector, ETNIC is notably involved in:

• Management of IT infrastructures (on-premise and hybrid)
• Development and maintenance of business applications
• Decision-making platforms and Business Intelligence
• Data governance, security, and quality
• Support for users and business teams

In this context, ETNIC wishes to temporarily strengthen its BI teams through a specialized Tableau consulting assignment.

2. Mission

The assignment concerns technical and operational support for the design, evolution, optimization, and publication of Tableau dashboards, as well as the preparation of the data required for their use via Tableau Prep.

The assignment is set for 20 working days between the start of the mission (ASAP) and 12/31/2026.

3. Activities

1. Development of Tableau dashboards

• Design, development, and evolution of dashboards with Tableau Desktop.
• Creation of interactive visualizations
• Ergonomic and readable formatting of dashboards.
• Adherence to data visualization best practices.
• Optimization of user experience.

2. Data preparation – Tableau Prep / SQL

• Analysis and cleaning of source data.
• Preparation of datasets usable in Tableau.
• Use of Tableau Prep Builder for:
• Development or adaptation of SQL queries if necessary.
• Verification of consistency between source data and data displayed in dashboards.

3. Connection to sources & performance

• Connection to available data sources:
• Creation or adaptation of Tableau extracts if necessary.
• Optimization of queries, filters, extracts, and dashboard performance.
• Analysis of loading times and identification of causes of slowness.

4. Publication

• Publication of dashboards on Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud, depending on the environment used.
