Role: Data Warehouse and Reporting Developer - European Commission

Location:
Brussels, Belgium - European Commission

Responsibilities:

Following tasks will be performed by external service provider:

• Operational aspects of the data warehouse.
• Development and maintenance on Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW).
• Development and maintenance of the software - web or standalone - applications and the catalogue of reports related to the data warehouse.
• Operational production: Dataset updates, data extractions, report generation
• Reports catalogue maintenance.
• ETLT process corrections and improvements.
• Assistance with deployment and configuration of the system.
• DB performance analysis.
• Design/Development of: ETLT processes, Reporting applications, Physical DB, Test programs.

Requirements:

Following skills are required for the performance of the above listed tasks:

• Good knowledge of RDBMS ORACLE
• Experience with SQL
• Good expertise with Unix/Linux
• Good knowledge of Java, Perl, Python
• Source control tools such as Git.
• Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment with tools like Jenkins.
• Data warehouse concepts and ETLT tools.
• Data processing, analytical analysis, reporting tool (especially BIRT).
• HTML/XHTML, XML, XSLT, CSS, JavaScript.
• The design and development of web and multi-tier internet applications (JAVA J2EE)

Languages:

• Good knowledge of English - Level B1/B2 in Understanding, Speaking and Writing

• Very good communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
• Analysis and problem-solving skills
• Ability to conceptualize complex technical environments and issues
