NTT DATA is actively looking for an experienced Data Analyst. This freelance position is based in Brussels.

Role

The Data analyst plays a key role in developing data solutions (data warehouses and data marts). He/she is in regular contact with the company to understand the business needs and translate them into data and technical requirements. He/she has sufficient practical expertise with the Microsoft SQL Server BI technology stack. This includes knowledge of Power BI and Azure databricks.

The Data Analyst is part of the Data Office, a central organization providing data services in the various business areas. He/she works within a Scrum team in close collaboration with the Proxy Product Owner and the Data Architect of the project.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and conduct interviews with end-users in the business to determine functional and non-functional requirements for BI solutions
• Translate business needs into logical and physical data models with appropriate documentation
• Work with the data architect to translate requirements into functional and technical specifications
• Design, build, deploy and maintain BI solutions according to established standards (data integration, data warehouse, data marts) in accordance with functional and non-functional requirements (performance, data volume)
• Test the analytical solution, troubleshoot, provide adequate maintenance and technical documentation
• Create visualizations and reports for requested projects in Power BI or SSRS
• Conduct prototype reviews and demonstrations including training on the data model for professional users
• Work with the Project Manager (PL) throughout the project lifecycle to ensure proper implementation in an agile and pragmatic approach

Key competencies

• Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Minimum of 7 years experience in functional data analysis and BI development in the Microsoft BI stack (including SSIS/SSAS)
• Minimum of 7 years experience in data engineering with Azure Databricks, using Python
• Ability to translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications
• Strong experience in data modelling (logical and physical modelling)
• Good experience in data warehouse design (Kimball dimensional modeling)
• Very good knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (from a development perspective), SQL queries, T-SQL
• Very good knowledge of Python, in a data engineering context
• Good understanding of database management systems, on-line analytical processing (OLAP) and the FTE framework
• Experience in visualization and reporting tools such as Microsoft Power BI and SSRS
• First experience in data management (Master Data Management) and data quality management is a plus
• Knowledge of the following tools is a plus: modeling tool (e.g. Enterprise Architect), Azure data analysis tools (Azure data factory, Databricks, etc.)
• A first experience in working in agile project mode is a plus
