Role: Webmaster - European Commission
Location: Brussels, Belgium - European Commission

Responsibilities:

Following tasks will be performed by external service provider:

CONTENT CREATION PROCESS

• Review of content changes proposed by the content providers and applying the required quality standards in terms of web publishing and information management, in line with the Commission's corporate guidelines, writing style guides and conventions, as well as the site content strategy and technical specifications;
• Day-to-day support and guidance to content providers and site users;
• Contributing to the guidelines and training for content providers and site users;
• Contributing to the content strategy for the site and ensuring its completeness and quality;

CONTENT MAINTENANCE

• Maintenance of the libraries and lists on the site (orphaned items, duplicates, incomplete, incorrect or outdated information, unpublished drafts of pages, etc.);
• Maintenance of the metadata in the site libraries and lists and ensuring the required metadata completeness and quality;
• Maintenance of the term store on the site as required;
• Contributing to the technical specifications for the site and ensuring their completeness and quality;

SITE ADMINISTRATION

• Acting as one of the site owners and ensuring an uninterrupted, efficient and user-centric functioning of the site;
• Management of permissions and ensuring the correct access level of pages, files and other items, in line with the site access strategy;
• Contributing to the improvement of the site and its content in terms of user experience, navigation, search, content organisation and quality, page design and the use of SharePoint Online standard and custom features and webparts;

Requirements:

Following skills are required for the performance of the above listed tasks:

• Great understanding of Microsoft SharePoint Online, in particular the management of communication sites such as pages, libraries, lists, permissions, metadata, etc.;
• Great understanding of web content management, in particular, ensuring the quality of content in terms of clarity and linguistic correctness (in English) and an optimal user experience and journey;
• Ability and aptitude to work efficiently and smoothly with a network of content providers;
• Ability to quickly understand complex and often technical topics covered on the site in order to ensure the appropriate quality and clarity of content;
• Ability to work in an agile and proactive manner to respond timely and efficiently to the incoming requests from content providers and site users.

Languages:

• Excellent knowledge of English - Level C1 in Understanding, Speaking and Writing
