ABOUT THE POSITION:
The position is responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting internally developed end-user applications, with the aim of meeting the specific needs of the organization with high-quality software.

• Preparing a functional analysis based on discussions with end users, with the aim of gaining an understanding of functional needs.
• Consulting key users.
• Documenting the needs and providing feedback to the key users.

• Defining agreements regarding functionality “in scope” and “out of scope” of the project.

• For internally developed applications, preparing a technical analysis with the aim of providing the application manager(s) within the project team with the appropriate input.

• Designing the database behind the application.
• Defining the layout of the screens.

• Discussing technical needs with colleagues from Network Management.

• Developing and maintaining end-user applications based on the functional analysis, according to the company's own development methodology, with the aim of delivering high-quality applications.

• Designing screens used within an application.
• Programming the code that checks and processes the inputted data.

• Programming access to the central databases with company data.

• Testing, implementing, and rolling out the developed end-user applications, with the aim of delivering error-free software and familiarizing end users with the offered functionality.

• Testing the developed functionality.
• Deploying the validated version of an end-user application to production.

• Providing support during the training of end users.

• Maintaining database data and structures with the aim of ensuring correct and consistent company data.

• Adding additional tables to a database.
• Transferring database data to an adapted database design.

• Importing mass-supplied data into an internal database.

• Integrating the developed end-user applications with externally purchased software with the aim of offering an integrated set of applications.

• Online reading of data stored in externally designed databases.
• Exporting company data to XML files.

• Importing externally supplied data into an internal database.

• Analyzing, solving, and following up on application-related problems reported by end users with the aim of restoring the operation of the application.

• Analyzing unexpected error messages and resolving them.
• Restoring data that ended up incorrectly in the database.

• Providing support to the end user in the use of the available end-user applications.

• Performing operational tasks that are part of the operation of the available end-user applications with the aim of ensuring the proper functioning of the application.

• Importing and exporting data.
• Managing the rights of end users in collaboration with the responsible users.

• Creating team sites for exchanging data with external partners.

• Keeping the documentation regarding internally developed applications up to date with the aim of maintaining a correct and complete overview of the available in-house developed applications.

• Documenting the program code according to the internally established development methodology.
• Registering the program code in the available management tools (MS/TFS).

• Adjusting the manuals for end users.

• Submitting the necessary proposals to optimize the development and production environment, with the aim of ensuring that these continue to meet current and future business needs.

• Providing proposals regarding internal development methodology and architectures.
• Highlighting interesting and relevant developments on the market of software components.
• Developing optimization proposals.
