Mission Description

We are looking for an experienced Java architect who will work within our development teams, taking on assignments entrusted to us by our clients.

We expect the candidate to be not only highly technically skilled but also to have proven experience in managing a group of Java developers in terms of task definition and allocation, as well as organizing activities such as code review, managing Merge requests, release, deployments…

The candidate must also demonstrate excellent abilities at various levels:

• strong abstraction skills in order to propose improvement solutions for an existing application, but also to design and architect new developments in compliance with Smals Technical standards and stacks.

• ability to think out of the box and challenge existing solutions

• understanding of business needs and the definition of a coherent architectural vision aligned with all the business domains covered

• understanding of document processes – document lifecycle (creation, validation, archiving, deletion, signature, routing, …)

• experience with ECM solutions (Nuxeo, SharePoint, Documentum, …), storage – object storage solutions (S3, NextCloud, …)

• knowledge in management of metadata, versions, access rights, classifications

• proficiency with indexing/search engines (Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, etc.)

The working language can be either French or Dutch, but a minimum knowledge of the second national language is required.
