Mission Description

We are looking for an experienced Java architect to work within our development teams, taking on assignments entrusted to us by our clients.

We expect the candidate to be not only highly skilled technically but also to have proven experience in managing a group of Java developers in defining and distributing their tasks, as well as organizing code review activities, managing Merge requests, release, deployments, etc.

The candidate must also demonstrate excellent abilities at different levels:

• Strong abstraction skills to propose improvement solutions for an existing application, as well as design and architect new developments while respecting Smals Technical standards and stacks.
• Ability to think outside the box and challenge existing solutions
• Understanding of business needs and the ability to define a coherent architectural vision with respect to all business domains covered
• Understanding of document processes – document lifecycle (creation, validation, archiving, deletion, signing, routing, …)
• Experience with ECM solutions (Nuxeo, SharePoint, Documentum, …), storage – object storage solutions (S3, NextCloud, …)
• Knowledge in metadata management, versioning, access rights, classifications
• Mastery of indexing/search engines (Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, etc.)

The working language can be French or Dutch, but a minimum knowledge of the second national language is necessary.
