BI Architect

Mission Context – BI Architect (Federal Judicial Police)

As part of a strategic initiative within the Belgian Federal Judicial Police, a scalable, data-driven platform is being developed to centralize and process information from multiple sources. The objective is to enable scoring mechanisms, trend analysis, and configurable dashboards for internal use across various police entities.

Building upon an initial proof of concept, a flexible architecture has been established, core data sources have been integrated, and a foundation for dashboards and analytics has been laid out. The platform is designed with reusability and modularity in mind, making it adaptable for other internal applications.

The BI Architect will work in a small, agile team alongside a project manager, a solution architect, and a Python developer. The original development team is still available to support knowledge transfer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance and expand the current BI and data modeling framework.
  • Design and refine multi-source data models following best practices (e.g. medallion architecture).
  • Guide and implement data transformation workflows using DBT and Python.
  • Automate data ingestion pipelines from various formats (e.g. APIs, CSV exports).
  • Collaborate on the development of flexible Power BI dashboards, including historical data views, statistics, and scoring visualizations.
  • Ensure application configurability for different police departments (e.g. dynamic scoring rules).
  • Contribute to API strategies and secure data exposure for internal stakeholders.
  • Align technical implementation with business requirements while ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability.

Technical Environment:

  • PostgreSQL
  • DBT (Data Build Tool)
  • Python
  • Power BI
  • REST APIs
  • Git

This mission provides a unique opportunity to contribute to a data-centric platform within a high-impact public safety context. The ideal candidate has strong experience in BI architecture, data modeling, and analytics, combined with hands-on technical expertise.
