Role Overview

The SAP FS-RI Functional Consultant/Developer is a hybrid role responsible for the end-to-end implementation, configuration, development, and support of the SAP FS-RI module for Reinsurance companies. This position requires a deep understanding of the reinsurance business processes, proficiency in SAP configuration, and strong ABAP development skills to deliver tailored solutions, ensure system stability, and drive business value.

Key Responsibilities

Functional Consulting & Configuration

• Analyze and interpret business requirements from Reinsurance stakeholders (e.g., Underwriting, Claims, Accounting) and translate them into effective SAP FS-RI solutions.
• Perform system configuration across all core FS-RI components, including:
• Basic system settings (Company Codes, Currencies, etc.).
• Treaty management (Treaty Master, Coverage, Shares).
• Assumed and Ceded reinsurance setup.
• Bordereaux processing and accounting rules.
• Loss and Reserve processing.
• Configuration of sub-ledger functionalities and interfaces to SAP FICO/GL.
• Design and document functional specifications for reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms (RICEF).
• Conduct unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Provide third-level support for complex incidents and problem resolution.

Development & Technical

• Develop and modify ABAP programs, including reports, interfaces, and enhancements (BAdIs, User Exits, Function Modules) within the SAP FS-RI module.
• Utilize SAP ABAP Objects (OO ABAP) and leverage FS-RI specific tools and classes.
• Perform data migration tasks using LSMW or custom ABAP programs.
• Troubleshoot and debug technical issues in ABAP code and FS-RI configuration.
• Collaborate with Basis teams on technical upgrades and performance tuning.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Deep knowledge of Reinsurance Business Processes (Proportional, Non-Proportional, Facultative). Expert configuration skills in SAP FS-RI. Strong understanding of integration points with SAP FICO, FS-CD, and SAP ECC/S/4HANA. Excellent business analysis and requirements gathering.
• Advanced ABAP programming skills. Experience with FS-RI specific development objects (e.g., custom events, enhancements). Proficiency in debugging and performance analysis. Familiarity with SAP data models, particularly in FS-RI.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 5+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience in SAP FS-RI implementation and support.
• Proven experience as both a Functional Consultant (Configuration) and an ABAP Developer (Coding).
• Full lifecycle implementation experience with SAP FS-RI is highly desirable.
