Context of the assignment
RSVZ is a dynamic organization where more than 150 people work within the IT department. R.S.V.Z. is a bilingual environment, with both Dutch-speaking and French-speaking stakeholders. Within IT, work is done in an agile manner (scrum methodology) and the ten development teams are assembled in a multidisciplinary way. The development team Red is looking for a business/functional analyst to replace the current jobholder.
Team Red currently consists of 13 people. The following functions and roles are represented in the team: Scrum Master, Business Analysts, Developers, Test Analysts, Ops Engineer, Product Owner. The team is Dutch-speaking.
Activities of Team Red include the automation of processes within social security for the self-employed.
Role
The Business/Functional Analyst forms the bridge between the business and functional needs of the business and the technical realization by the development teams. He/she combines insight into processes, analytical skills, and technical expertise to design qualitative solutions within an Agile/Scrum environment. The Business/Functional Analyst works closely with business stakeholders, developers, testers, and the Product Owner.
The consultant will participate in the automation of processes within social security for the self-employed.
Main responsibilities
- Collecting, analyzing, and translating business and user needs into functional requirements.
- Facilitating workshops, story-mapping sessions, and design thinking exercises to clarify processes and needs.
- Analyzing processes and system flows as well as identifying optimization opportunities and clearly presenting these to the business.
- Drafting detailed functional specifications (including UML diagrams, data models, interface descriptions, API specifications).
- Developing user stories with clear functional acceptance criteria.
- Collaborating with the Product Owner for backlog prioritization based on business value and technical feasibility.
- Safeguarding the functional and technical consistency of proposed solutions within the existing architecture.
- Supporting developers and testers during design, development, and validation phases, and acting as the point of contact for functional clarifications.
- Participating in all Agile ceremonies such as PI Planning, refinements, daily scrums, sprint reviews and retrospectives, as well as peer reviews.
Required experience and competencies
- Level: senior
- Bachelor or Master in Computer Science or equivalent through experience.
- Experience as a business/functional analyst: at least 5 years.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum and good knowledge of Agile methodologies: 3 years

Work regime
Hybrid, per week: 2 days in the office in Brussels and 3 days teleworking.
