DIST is the division within DRI responsible for the conception, management, and further development of the central ICT systems of the integrated police. The division is responsible for, among other things, system architecture, servers, networks, databases, communication, video, data centers, technical standards, and ICT security. DIST also provides second-line support and monitors the continuity, security, and scalability of the critical ICT infrastructure of the police.
Project
Within DIST, there is an urgent need for reinforcement in the area of cloud architecture, with a clear focus on hybrid infrastructure, cloud connectivity, automation, security-by-design, and integration with existing on-premise platforms. The assignment is part of the further professionalization and security of the cloud, server, and infrastructure environment of the Federal Police, with particular attention to continuity, performance, governance, data protection, operational reliability, and resilience in case of incidents.
Mission
The Cloud Architect supports DIST in designing, validating, and guiding cloud and hybrid architectures. The consultant contributes to drawing up technical standards, landing zones, network and security architectures, identity and access models, automation, monitoring, and infrastructure-oriented cloud components such as hybrid connectivity, storage, backup, disaster recovery, high availability, capacity planning, and performance management. He/she translates functional and technical needs into robust, secure, scalable, and manageable cloud solutions, in close cooperation with the teams Server Platforms, Security, Datacenter, Networks, DBA, and project teams within DRI. The assignment includes both architectural advice and practical guidance during implementation, documentation, handover, and support of operational teams.

Employment conditions: presence at the office at least 2 times per week depending on the tasks and in consultation with the team, telework allowed (in Belgium)
