ABOUT THE POSITION

The Construction Coordinator is responsible for the daily coordination, management, and supervision of construction works at the project site. He/She acts as the link between the contractors, the Project Manager, the operator, and other involved parties to ensure safe, timely, and high-quality execution of the work in accordance with the agreed specifications and legal requirements. The Construction Coordinator should have experience with the follow-up of electrical and/or automation projects.

  • Acting as the point of contact for contractors on site and ensuring good information flow between the various parties (internal and external) with the aim of avoiding or proactively detecting conflicts (planning, quality, location, ...) and proposing solutions.
  • Chairing contractor meetings and providing input at site meetings.
  • Escalating problems when necessary.
  • Advising in case of issues and involving the necessary and correct parties to make decisions.

  • Supporting contractors and the Project Manager during project execution and coordinating and following up on contractors for smaller (maintenance) projects to ensure optimal project progress.

  • Performing/following up on the necessary administration to grant workers access to the sites and preparing work preparations for larger projects.
  • Providing necessary documents (inspection and test plans, VGWs, construction plans, ...) to contractors.
  • Informing about the progress and issues with the works to be carried out.

  • Following up and recording technical and administrative changes and milestones in the technical file during and after the works to ensure proper follow-up of the file.

  • Ensuring that changes during execution are included in the construction file.
  • Documenting the executed works (photo archive, reports, ...).
  • Reporting major changes to the Project Manager.

  • Contributing to the safety policy by ensuring compliance with the safety regulations (including site regulations and KB TMB), participating in the prevention policy and gathering and creating all necessary information to ensure safety within the projects/sites in accordance with applicable guidelines and legal obligations.

  • Detecting improvements and applying lessons learned to ensure continuous optimization of activities within the work domain on existing and new sites.
  • Drawing up unusual event, incident reports, and fact analyses.
  • Initiating improvement proposals and developing measures.
  • Preparing toolbox meetings.
