Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst, specialized in Visual Basic, to work on reverse engineering and documentation projects for macros developed in Excel spreadsheets.

The ideal candidate has strong expertise in VBA code analysis, understanding of business processes integrated within Excel, and will be able to support the modernization, documentation, and streamlining of existing tools.

He/she will work closely with business users to transform legacy solutions into robust, well-documented, and scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

Analysis and reverse engineering

• Thoroughly understand and analyze existing Visual Basic macros in Excel.
• Identify dependencies, business logic, and implicit rules encapsulated within the code.
• Map and document automated processes.

Support and maintenance

• Ensure operational continuity of Excel files used by business units.
• Provide responsive support to key users.

Documentation and knowledge transfer

• Structure and maintain clear and comprehensive documentation on macros and their business logic.
• Train users and transfer knowledge to internal teams.
• Contribute to knowledge capitalization to ensure the sustainability of developments.

Profile Sought

Education: University degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in development and analysis of Visual Basic macros in Excel, with proven track record in reverse engineering existing solutions.

Technical Skills:

• In-depth mastery of VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) and MS Excel environments.
• Excellent ability to analyze, decode, and optimize existing solutions.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office environments.
• Experience in migrating Excel/VBA solutions to more industrialized environments is an asset.
