Consultant SAP BC

Job Title: 2 part-time positions for SAP BC Consultant / SAP Basis Consultant

Location: Namur

Languages: French and English required

Remote work: min. 3 days on site

Assignment: Long-term, part-time per week

Job Summary:

We are looking for 2 part-time consultants as experienced SAP BC / SAP Basis professionals, with strong skills and deep technical expertise.

As part of the SAP TEC team, you will be responsible for the entire BC area, in collaboration with the infrastructure and the rest of the SAP team.

As an expert within the SAP Basis team, you will be in charge of configuring, maintaining, and optimizing existing or new components in the SAP environment.

You will actively participate in the ECC RISE migration to S4H.

You will work independently under the supervision of the SAP Teamlead and the SAP Department Manager, and will be able to communicate effectively with our providers (SAP ECS, …), to meet project needs and comply with IT standards and policies.

Main Responsibilities:

Technical administration SAP ECC under Rise

  • Monitoring performance of the SAP system hosted on Azure hyperscaler.
  • Management of SAP instances (start/stop, logs, traces).
  • Applying support packages, kernel updates, and SAP notes.
  • Performing system refreshes (client copies, QA/DEV/PRD systems).
  • Administration of HANA (and Oracle, if applicable) databases: backup, restore, optimization.
  • Implementation of security policies (users, roles, authorizations, SSO, SNC).
  • Monitoring jobs via cALM and system processes.

Transport Management

  • Coordinating and executing SAP transports between QAS and PRD environments.
  • Tracking transport requests, validating dependencies, and managing conflicts.
  • Complying with IT governance processes.

Interface Management

  • Monitoring flows to file servers, RFC, Web Services.
  • Analyzing and resolving integration errors between SAP ECC and third-party systems.
  • Coordinating with functional and technical teams to ensure smooth inter-application exchanges.

Integration with SAP BTP

  • Configuration and management of SAP Cloud Connector.
  • Integration with SAP BTP services:
  • Securing exchanges between SAP ECC and cloud services.
  • Providing technical support to innovation or extension projects via BTP.

Monitoring and reporting

  • Supervision via SAP Cloud ALM (cALM).
  • Implementation and configuration of SAP Cloud ALM for monitoring SAP systems.
  • Tracking alerts, performance indicators (KPIs), and incidents.
  • Integrating cALM with ITSM processes and ticketing tools.

  • Creating performance dashboards and system status reports.
  • Tracking technical SLAs and documenting major incidents.

🦜 🔌 Project and evolution support

  • Participating in migration, upgrade, or transformation projects.
  • Technical review of solutions proposed by integrators.
  • Technical documentation and knowledge transfer.
  • Analyzing resource requirements for new modules or interfaces (sizing, architecture).

Profile Sought:

Education: University degree in computer science, management, engineering, or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum 7 years SAP Basis.

Technical Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of databases: Oracle and Hana.
  • Operational experience with Unix and Windows.
  • SAP Rise.
  • At least 5 years of specific and practical experience with SAP Basis technologies, with a proven track record of implementation, upgrade, and maintenance projects.
  • Good knowledge of current technologies supporting SAP Business Suite.
  • Practical experience in system refresh/copy, backup/restore, server sizing.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of ERP applications, system development lifecycle, application development project dynamics, IT practices and methods.
  • Ability to quickly identify technical risks, analyze impacts, define alternatives and priorities to remove technical obstacles.
  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, presentation, and interpersonal relations, with tact, discretion, judgment, and diplomacy in interactions and/or negotiations with internal/external clients and management.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple topics simultaneously.
  • Analytical mindset and ability to solve complex problems.
