1. Presentation of ETNIC

ETNIC (Entreprise pour les Technologies de l’Information et de la Communication) is the IT operator of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles. As a public interest organization, ETNIC’s mission is to design, develop, maintain, and evolve information systems and technological infrastructures serving the administrations and institutions of the FWB.

As a central player in the digital transformation of the Belgian French-speaking public sector, ETNIC operates in various fields such as:

• IT infrastructure management (networks, security, data centers, cloud)
• Development of custom business applications
• Support for digital projects (functional analysis, UX/UI, project management)
• Cybersecurity and data protection
• User support and training

With a constant focus on innovation, performance, and public service, ETNIC regularly collaborates with external partners to strengthen its teams through IT consultancy assignments. These collaborations are framed within an ethical, professional context, aiming for quality and tangible impact of the delivered solutions.

2. Mission

ETNIC manages, among other things, two physical data centers and servers in private clouds. In this context, an initial analysis for the implementation of a DRP, followed by a BCP, must be carried out.

The Data Center Manager will be required to analyze, initially, based on three already identified critical applications, the current level of the overall architecture of the data center, from the physical layer up to the application layer.

He/she will identify the existing (software and documentary) elements that are useful, as well as the relevant contacts within ETNIC.

Based on this, he/she will develop a realistic, step-by-step roadmap to achieve the RTO and RPO for each application identified during an analysis conducted internally by ETNIC.

In this context, he/she will also be responsible for the gradual commissioning of services on a second data center (DC2), as well as the evolution towards a multi-data center architecture. He/she must also identify the best way to position a private cloud as a complementary solution for recovery and continuity, in coordination with on-premise infrastructures.
