Data Governance Consultant
Mission Modalities
ORES is looking for a Data Governance Consultant to implement and operationalize the actions identified in the assessment already carried out.
The assignment is full-time, for 5 months renewable, with a start date no later than early May.
The mission requires regular presence in Gosselies, at least 2 days/week, in order to work closely with key stakeholders.
As the site is not easily accessible by public transport, possession of a driving license and a vehicle is required.
Mission Context
ORES is entering an execution phase of its data strategy: an assessment of governance practices has been completed. A new organization is being established, with a product-oriented model and decentralized data.
The consultant’s mission is to turn the assessment and recommendations into concrete achievements, integrating into the new organization and working closely with key stakeholders (business teams, DPO, security, data platform, architects, management) to quickly generate value.
Main Tasks:
- Organization & roles
- Deploy data governance roles (owners, stewards, etc.) within the ORES organization.

Clarify responsibilities, interactions, and modes of collaboration between the various business and IT stakeholders.

Data quality
- Collaborate with the data quality team on management and application of rules, indicators, and quality processes around priority use cases.
- Define and operationalize.

Support teams in continuous improvement.

Catalogue & glossary
- Structure and enrich the business glossary.
- Participate in the implementation of a data catalog.

Map key data: usage, owners, dependencies.

Compliance & security
- Integrate GDPR, ISO27001, and security requirements into daily practices.

Collaborate with the DPO and security on governance, confidentiality, audit, and retention aspects.

Training & acculturation
- Strengthen the data maturity of teams through training, support materials, and targeted awareness.
- Promote a shared and pragmatic data culture.

- Possess strong ability to work closely with the business and demonstrate business value.
- Have a pragmatic, results-oriented, and use case-driven vision.
- Be comfortable in decentralized and transforming environments.
- Exhibit excellent communication and cross-functional facilitation skills.
As the role requires administrator rights or access to information classified as confidential, it is considered high risk for ORES information systems. Therefore, and in accordance with ISO27001, we are required to conduct background checks by contacting at least one reference provided for any candidate selected for the assignment.
