Data Migration Expert TRORA Project
The existing TRORA application is used by the:
- Financial Management Department,
- Research Department,
- SPW TLPE
The application is obsolete (PowerBuilder) and must be replaced by a new application while maintaining and improving existing processes.
Since TRORA is not able to communicate via WebServices, an intermediate interface was developed and is hosted by the provider NRB to enable communication with WBFIN.
This intermediate interface requires significant maintenance (and costly hosting).
The TRORA application enables integrated management of company aid files for projects related to technological advancements, research, and energy-related fields.
It serves as a central working point from the receipt of files in the form of letters from future beneficiaries through to the payment of expenses linked to validated projects, from an administrative, technical, and accounting perspective. Some advances made within the TRORA application are recoverable. The application therefore also includes a "revenue" section.
The process of migrating data, files, or folders already present in TRORA2.0 to the new TRORA includes copying or migrating files, databases, configurations, or other stored elements, to ensure service continuity and an update without losing important information, while sorting and eliminating duplicates to achieve this migration at the lowest possible cost.
The deliverables expected from the Database Management expert at the end of the mission are:
- A functional and schematic analysis of the data extraction, transformation, and loading approach;
- A workload analysis and a high-level roadmap specifying the expected timeline for migrating all useful data and the documents associated with the files;
- Support to the SPW Digital business and functional analyst in the effort to reconcile data between the old application and the new application;
- A test report between the data and documents to be migrated (old application) and the migrated data (new application);
- All documented scripts for migrating data and documents.
The main tasks include:
- Definition and understanding of business needs and implementation of the structure/categorization of tasks to be accomplished
- Centralization of information and business concepts
- Overall understanding of how Pega works
- Extraction of the data model
- Implementation of complex SQL queries for selecting source data
