Data Migration Expert

The TRORA application, currently used by the Financial Management Department, the Research Department, and SPW TLPE, is an outdated solution developed in PowerBuilder. It needs to be replaced by the new SAMPO application, while ensuring the continuity of existing processes and their improvement.

TRORA enables the integrated management of business aid cases, from the submission of the request to the payment of expenses, covering administrative, technical, accounting, and financial dimensions. As some advances are recoverable, the application also includes a revenue component.

As part of the implementation of SAMPO, it is necessary to ensure the migration of data, documents, and elements associated with the cases currently present in TRORA. This migration must be carried out while guaranteeing the integrity, consistency, and quality of the data, with minimal impact on operational activities.

Objective of the assignment

The assignment consists of defining, documenting, carrying out, and validating the migration strategy for data and documents from TRORA to SAMPO.

Main activities

The consultant will be required to:

  • analyze the source and target data schemas;
  • identify mapping and transformation rules;
  • define and document the migration strategy;
  • design and execute ETL processes;
  • produce migration scripts for data and documents;
  • set up quality and validation controls;
  • test, validate, and document each import;
  • ensure reporting of results to the project team.

At the end of the assignment, the expert must provide at least the following deliverables:

  • a functional and technical analysis of the migration approach, covering the mechanisms for extraction, transformation, and loading of data;
  • an analysis of the migration scope as well as a high-level roadmap, specifying the main steps, dependencies, prerequisites, and estimated timelines for the migration of all relevant data and associated documents;
  • methodological and technical support to the business and functional analyst of SPW Digital in the process of mapping data from the old application to those of the new solution;
  • a control and testing report comparing the data and documents to be migrated from the source application and those included in the target application;
  • all documented migration scripts, including processes associated with document migration;

Evaluation Method

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview before a panel, the composition of which will be communicated later. The interview may be held remotely if circumstances require.
