Database Administrator expert
For the expansion of the database integration team within the ICT Systems & Operations department, we are looking for an experienced MS-SQL Database Administrator.
In close collaboration with our infrastructure partner, the team is responsible for ensuring the continuity and stability of the databases. Carrying out various project activities is also part of the regular tasks.
Additionally, the database integration team serves as the connecting link between the internal users of the database and external service providers. Our team of database specialists is as motivated as you are: we strive to ensure that systems always function optimally.
As a database expert, you always work meticulously, in a structured manner, and according to agreed standards. You are resilient to stress, communicate clearly, and coordinate regularly with your colleagues. Listening to others is self-evident for us. We are looking for a true team player who enjoys both sharing and acquiring knowledge.
Context/Requirements
• You are responsible for writing, validating, and executing all database changes requested in the production environment. You carefully check change requests from developers, including for accuracy and compliance with established standards. Additionally, you are responsible for correct execution, ensuring that scripts are thoroughly tested. You also prepare both the implementation and fallback plans and carry these out. Throughout this process, you strictly adhere to the release procedure!
• You are responsible for the management and maintenance of databases, you provide support for requests and validation of new databases and deploy them yourself in all environments.
• You contribute to proactive database monitoring and are also involved in the daily follow-up of this monitoring.
• You actively participate in proactive performance monitoring. In this context, you also have basic knowledge to provide support for performance and SQL tuning and can offer advice on, among other things, tuning SQL statements.
• You participate in active life cycle management, including upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning.
• You provide support for incidents, problems, and service requests. In doing so, you strictly follow the ITIL processes.
• You participate in database refreshes (e.g.: preparing databases for testers and developers).
• You always approach situations from a security-first perspective.
• You take a solution- and task-oriented approach in your work.
• You work every day with various teams within Fluvius, including our internal clients. Thanks to your communication skills, you can effortlessly formulate recommendations and clearly convey problems.
• You are able to work in a multidisciplinary manner.
• You are capable of organizing your work autonomously, i.e., you orchestrate end-to-end everything necessary to deliver the expected deliverable for which you are responsible.
• You work according to our standardized processes and actively contribute to their maintenance. In doing so, you continuously take reusability and user-friendliness into account. Accurate documentation and recording of processes are among your core qualities.
• You are able to develop and defend a vision in consultation with your colleagues, in order to make the right choices.
• An added value is that you have knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate.
