NTT DATA is currently seeking a Senior PostgreSQL Database Administrator for a public sector client based in Brussels. This role will be performed in a hybrid working model.

Your role:

As a Senior PostgreSQL DBA, you will be a key player in the management, optimization, and evolution of our fleet of 800 PostgreSQL databases (versions 13 and 16). You will actively contribute to the performance, security, and availability of the databases, while also participating in technology watch. After an adaptation period, you will also join the 24/7 on-call rotation.

Main responsibilities:

• Actively participate in daily operational tasks related to the management of PostgreSQL databases (versions 13 and 16).
• Administer, secure, and optimize PostgreSQL databases.
• Design and maintain robust, high-performance, and resilient environments.
• Manage backups, restores, and replications.
• Diagnose incidents, propose corrective and preventive actions.
• Document procedures and contribute to their continuous improvement.
• Ensure active technology watch.
• Participate in the 24/7 on-call rotation, once fully integrated into the team.

Your profile:

• You have been a Database Administrator for at least 10 years.
• Proven experience in PostgreSQL administration (minimum 7 years), ideally in a critical production environment.
• Strong command of concepts: tuning, indexing, partitioning, extensions, replication, security.
• Good knowledge of Linux and Bash scripting.
• Attention to detail, organizational skills, service-oriented mindset, and enjoyment of teamwork.
• Technical curiosity, autonomy, and ability to plan long-term.
• Knowledge of logical replication, containerization, Ansible, CI/CD tools, or automation is an asset, but not a requirement.
