Role: Database Architect

Location: Brussels, Belgium - European Parliament. The services shall be performed remotely in Far-site location within EU territory only.

Responsibilities:

Following tasks will be performed by external service provider:

  • Modelling, creation and design of relational databases
  • Maintenance of existing databases
  • Database performance analysis and tuning
  • Maintenance of data extractions of connected corporate systems (COMREF, SYSPER...)
  • Interaction with the business analysts, customer, users, project leaders and the developers

Requirements:

Following specific expertise is mandatory for the performance of tasks:

  • At least 15 years of specific expertise in Oracle relational database (min. competence level 5)
  • At least 15 years of specific expertise in design and modelling of logical and physical data models (min. competence level 5)
  • Excellent knowledge of relational database design
  • Excellent knowledge of SQL
  • Excellent knowledge of Oracle
  • Very Good knowledge of Data Warehouse and Reporting concepts and tools
  • Ability to work efficiently and fast
  • Ability to give business and technical presentations
  • Ability to apply high quality standards
  • Very good communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Analysis and problem solving skills
  • Capability to write clear and structured technical documents
  • Ability to participate in technical meetings and good communication skills

Certificates:

Following certificates & standards are required for the performance of tasks:

  • PM2 Agile
  • PRINCE2 Foundation
  • TOGAF Foundation
  • ITIL Foundation

Languages:

Ability to understand, speak and write English (C1) and French (B1)

Candidates should also have the following non-technical skills:

  • Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team
  • Ability to participate in multilingual meetings
  • Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on multiple large projects
  • Excellent Team Player
