BINAT is responsible for the implementation and management of the international projects and databases such as the SIS, EES, VIS, Europol and Interpol.

Projet

The Belgian National Schengen Information System (NSIS), deployed within the Federal Police, enables the exchange of information between the various European countries included in the Schengen area via the central system.

It is interconnected with all Federal Police applications as well as various federal applications.

Mission

• Development and integration of technological components
• Implementation and maintenance of databases
• Prototyping
• Assistance with the execution of test programs
• Drafting of technical documentation
• Assistance with system implementation and configuration
• Participation in meetings with project teams, working groups or user groups

As part of this role, it is important that the candidate has a good understanding of the business aspects related to an NSIS:

• Exchanges and the Schengen Protocol, information exchanges between the national Schengen system and the central system
• Knowledge of the Federal Police’s development and deployment environments; development procedures and standards
• Proficiency in the application environments of the Federal Police interacting with the NSIS
• Proficiency in the tools provided by euLisa

As part of this assignment, 24/7 support may be requested with requirements for on-site intervention within the hour.
