Embedded Systems Project Manager

ENVIRONMENT

TEC – short for "Transport En Commun" – is one of the main players in mobility as well as economic, social, and sustainable development in Belgium. With its 5,400 employees and 120 professions, TEC (www.letec.be) is a committed company whose members share a common project: to improve, every day, the performance, friendliness, and sustainability of public transport.

The IT department designs, builds, and operates the on-board computer of the bus (ODB) and (PFE) and designs and operates the operational support software (SAE) that supports the dispatch teams in their work. The mission consists of listing all the functionalities provided by these two solutions, conducting a SWOT (or comparable analysis of this solution), and developing a business case for migrating to a commercial off-the-shelf solution, outlining the advantages, disadvantages, and including a draft project plan supporting the chosen solution (maintaining the current strategy or moving to a commercial off-the-shelf solution with a timeline).

You will join a team of about twenty people (C++ developers (ODB/Embedded Systems) & PHP/Symfony (SAE/Web Platform); electronics engineer; change manager; tester; Product Owner; Team Leaders; Functional Analyst, Product Manager, Public Procurement Manager…) who will be your main stakeholders for this mission.

MISSION

In this context, your list of responsibilities may include the following:

  • Description of the current situation
  • Definition of an AS-IS and TO BE architecture, in collaboration with the architects
  • Analysis and drafting of a strategy
  • Daily project management:
  • Time management
  • Project breakdown (WBS) & planning
  • Monitoring
  • Steering and measuring progress (creating dashboards, choosing indicators, planning/preparing steering committees with the sponsor, etc.)
  • Decision making
  • Resource management & monitoring
  • Risk management
  • Management of project interdependencies
  • Supervision and coordination of the work of all project participants
  • Change request management
  • Time management
  • Ensure the link with the Project Coordinator who manages the project portfolio of the Department
  • Contribute to improving the project management methodological framework of the DSE
  • Ensure cross-functional collaboration of teams for the development of ODB & SAE products

Profile

Education:

  • You hold a Master's degree with at least 15 years of experience in large-scale Project Management with a strong IT focus
  • Proficiency in English is required
  • Prince 2 certification (or equivalent) is a plus

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

To meet the requirements, the proposed application must fully satisfy the following minimum criteria:

  • The candidate must possess the required minimum skills and experience (roles/skills)
  • The candidate must have a perfect command of the French language, both spoken and written
  • Full-time position. Possibility of 2 days of telework. Thursday and Friday preferably on-site in Namur
