Enterprise IT Architect

  1. Job Description

Drafting an integrated and consolidated Application Architecture for projects within the strategic programs (Grant/Legislative Changes) in order to properly operate these and guarantee applications of good usability and sustainable quality, which includes among others:

  • Taking a leading role in identifying and structuring applications, application components, and application functions that support the transversal core processes (Grant).
  • Drawing up a product catalog and a logical application landscape, including an overview of the products and their interrelationships, to support the Grant process.
  • Maintaining and updating these architecture deliverables to ensure their continuity in order to meet the needs and efficiency of the information systems.
  • Contributing to, optimizing, and monitoring the intermediate and target architectures, both program-specific and at the enterprise level.
  • Realizing the target architecture, together with business and IT, in line with the strategic objectives of the organization.
  • Supporting strategic decisions through impact analyses, scenario development, and providing correct, essential, and sufficient information.
  • Contributing to business cases (e.g., Buy vs. Build), RFPs, defining master plans and programs, and the realization of proofs of concept.
  • Collaborating on the creation of transformation roadmaps, including architectural dependencies, risks, and priorities.
  • Monitoring the architectural quality of IT solutions, in collaboration with the application architects and project teams.
  • Translating, applying, and promoting the generally accepted Application Architecture standards to the various teams, taking into account internal transformation trajectories and other applicable standards within SFPD.
  • Supporting other roles (architects, IT project managers, functional analysts, developers, ...) in applying architectural principles, standards, and reference models.
  • Targeted coaching of other architects.

  • Technical and Generic Competencies

  • Experience in setting up, implementing, and monitoring IT Architecture governance and application architecture.

  • Analytical and strategic thinking skills: able to perform impact analysis, evaluate scenarios, and substantiate decisions.
  • Able to evaluate legacy applications, draw up migration plans, and guide integration into new platforms.
  • Possessing the necessary technical background to engage constructively and substantively with IT experts.
  • You have the necessary leadership qualities to involve your stakeholders in Architectural Governance and decision-making.
  • You are an excellent communicator, you bring structure for your stakeholders, and you work in a planned manner.
  • Experience in change management. You can guide transformations and effectively manage resistance.
  • Collaboration-oriented: works effectively with diverse roles (architects, project managers, business analysts, developers) and stimulates cross-domain collaboration.
  • Autonomy and result-orientedness.

Assets:

  • Experience in the public sector, knowledge of pensions and the Belgian social security system.

The place of employment is Brussels. We offer the possibility to telework part-time.
