For a long-term assignment in Antwerp, we are looking for an Epic Owner Infrastructure & Security (Banking)
Start date as soon as the suitable consultant is found. This full-time assignment is extended every 3 months. 50% remote work is possible.
General context
We are looking for an Epic Owner to help shape the realization of the IT roadmap within a SAFe agile context. In this role, you take ownership of strategic epics with a strong focus on IT infrastructure, IT security, and resilience within a regulated banking environment.
As Epic Owner, you operate at the intersection of strategy, architecture, and execution and play a key role in translating strategic objectives into concrete, value-driven initiatives within Infrastructure & Operations.
Your role and responsibilities
As Epic Owner, you are responsible for the end-to-end coordination and management of infrastructure and security-related epics.
Your main responsibilities:
- Planning, structuring, and coordinating epics and related change activities to ensure efficient, coherent, and predictable execution.
- Guiding epics within domains such as cybersecurity, access management, compliance, and infrastructure modernization, focusing on a secure and resilient IT environment.
- Defining, preparing, and managing the epic roadmap and Lean Business Case, including monitoring scope, dependencies, risks, and benefit realization.
- Close cooperation with key stakeholders, including:
- Business Owners
- Epic Portfolio Lead
- Solution Managers
- Enterprise Architects
- Release Train Engineer (RTE)
- Vendor Management & Procurement
- Ensuring support, prioritization, and alignment of features and initiatives within the epic.
- Organizing and facilitating agile ceremonies and decision-making moments at the epic level.
- Representing Infrastructure & Operations during Program Increment (PI) planning and other SAFe events.
- Safeguarding alignment between IT initiatives, security requirements, and regulatory expectations within a banking context.
Your profile
You are an experienced professional with a strong analytical and strategic profile, who is at the same time sufficiently hands-on to decisively initiate complex projects.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree or equivalent through experience.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience as Epic Owner, Senior Project Manager, or Program Manager, preferably within banking or insurance.
- Proven experience within one or more of the following domains:
- IT infrastructure
- IT security
- Digital workplace / end user computing
- IT integration
- Thorough knowledge of:
- Agile and waterfall methodologies
- SAFe and project methodologies such as Agile and PRINCE2
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate strategic objectives into concrete, executable plans.
- Extensive experience in stakeholder management: strong communicator, result-oriented, and sufficiently assertive to provide direction in complex environments.
- Affinity with IT governance, compliance, and risk-aware work within a regulated context.
