Expert Cloud Solution & DevOps Architect – Azure

The General Directorate of Immigration Service is seeking an experienced, proactive, and hands-on Azure Cloud Solution & DevOps Architect who will be responsible for developing, building, and maintaining cloud-based solutions for our clients within and outside the Immigration Service, using Azure Services. The ideal candidate must have solid knowledge of Terraform, Azure services, Azure DevOps, and experience with Azure Landing Zones. As a member of the existing team, you will collaborate with project managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure our cloud solutions are scalable, reliable, and secure.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and implementing cloud-based solutions using Azure services;
• Advising on the design and implementation of cloud-native, event-driven application architectures;
• Creating infrastructure-as-code using Terraform to manage Azure resources;
• Implementing security and compliance best practices for Azure services and applications;
• Implementing scalable governance, security, and compliance policies with Azure Policy;
• Developing automation scripts and processes to streamline and manage deployments related to Azure resources;
• Collaborating with project managers to plan and estimate cloud infrastructure requirements for new projects;
• Working with developers to ensure that cloud solutions are optimized for performance and scalability;
• Collaborating with data architects and data engineers to design, implement, and manage their cloud infrastructure;
• Developing and maintaining technical documentation, including diagrams, runbooks, and other documentation as required;
• Staying up-to-date with the latest Azure services and technologies and providing the team with advice and recommendations on new features and capabilities;
• Implementing and maintaining Azure Landing Zones and ensuring adherence to best practices;
• Working with Azure DevOps to implement and manage cloud-based solutions;
• Participating in various advisory bodies concerning Architecture, Security, DevOps, etc.;
• Collaborating with existing infrastructure teams in designing and implementing connectivity with the existing on-premise data centers;
• Guiding and training junior team members in the areas of Azure services, Terraform, Azure Landing Zones, and Azure DevOps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field;
• At least 10 years of experience in the ICT sector;
• 10 years of experience with programming languages such as .NET/C# and/or Java, etc.;
• 10 years of experience in designing, building, and maintaining cloud-based solutions using Azure services;
• 5 years of experience with Azure DevOps, including pipelines and version control;
• 5 years of experience with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code;
• 5 years of experience in container orchestration using Kubernetes and Kubernetes ecosystem tooling (Docker, Helm, Flux, Kustomize);
• Experience in Azure Landing Zones architecture and experience with their implementation;
• Experience with Azure Data services such as (Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, etc.);
• In-depth knowledge of Azure services such as Azure VMs, Azure Storage, Azure Networking, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Functions, Azure SQL Database, Azure Service Bus, Azure Application Gateway, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and others;
• Strong understanding of integration architectures (APIs, messaging, hybrid connectivity, event-driven);
• Strong understanding of security and compliance requirements for cloud-based solutions, including identity and access management, data protection, and network security;
• Experience implementing compliance frameworks such as NIST2, Cyberfundamentals, ISO27001 in the context of the public sector;
• Experience with automation tools such as PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Azure Automation;
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment;
• Experience with (collaborative) work within agile delivery teams;
• Experience in guiding and training engineers;
• Possession of Microsoft Azure certification: Azure Solutions Architect Expert;
• Microsoft certification such as Azure Developer Associate or others is a plus.
