You work within the Business Solutions department and report to the Manager Build & Transform.

The main mission of the department is to guarantee internal performance by providing quality IT solutions. We develop, operate, and maintain a whole range of internal IT solutions such as the SAP S4/HANA suite, as well as other platforms.

You will join the Build & Transform team, responsible for the analysis, preparation, and execution of the department's projects.

We require you to spend at least 2/3 of your time in the STIB offices in Brussels to facilitate collaboration with our internal teams.

Context & Objective

The objective is to extend the functionalities of a fully custom-developed SAP solution for the management of work permits.

These work permits are issued to authorize maintenance work on our transport networks. We want to extend this short-term management (which we call "Planning") by introducing the management of certain files that require prior processing before planning (which we call "Coordination").

Currently, this coordination management is supported by a simple SharePoint list.

Planning requests are currently submitted through a WEB interface developed in Angular JS. The processing of requests and their validation by different STIB departments are carried out via the SAP GUI.

In the future, the introduction of Coordination requests and their processing will be done in the same way in both interfaces: first Angular JS and then SAP GUI.

A coordination request will follow a process quite similar to the existing Planning process.

Once a coordination is accepted, it transforms into a Planning and continues its life cycle with a second round of validation.

Main Responsibilities

Technical and Functional Analysis

Based on business specifications and in collaboration with our Business Analysts:

• Study business needs and propose a technical approach, an action plan, and a budget estimate to be validated by our solution architects.
• Translate business needs into technical analysis.

Adaptation and Modification of the ABAP Application

• You will work on an STIB PC.
• Implement the necessary technical adaptations in the existing application.
• Design, develop, and expose OData services to feed the Angular WEB interface.
• Ensure data model consistency between SAP and the front-end.
• Collaborate with the Angular JS developer to synchronize development phases.
• Populate SAP tables to enable testing on both the Backend and Extranet (Angular JS) sides.

Testing and Validation of Modified Interfaces

• Collaborate with the Angular JS developer to prepare, execute, and document rigorous unit and integration tests.
• Collaborate with our Business Analysts to quickly identify and resolve any integration and non-regression issues detected during acceptance test phases.

Documentation and Knowledge Transfer

• Document and transfer knowledge to the AMS teams to ensure incident resolution and future application maintenance.
• Provide post-migration support, addressing incidents related to this application until the AMS team reaches the required level of expertise.
