F5/Palo Alto Network Security Specialist for ABIS
The Systems Division (DIST) develops the architecture of ICT systems and organizes and manages ICT systems. It ensures the technical analysis of system requirements, the development and management of system architecture (servers, networks, database management, communication, video), the development of technical standards for the organization of the Police, and the implementation of ICT security and protection. It also manages data centers as well as the central infrastructure and technical systems used in these centers. It manages and supervises the "Research & Development Committee (Comité de la Recherche et du Développement)", whose role is to continue to innovate and seek ways to do so. The division also provides specialized second-line support in this area.
The ABIS project – Automated Biometric Identification System – is a system for storing, processing, and analyzing biometric data. It involves replacing and upgrading the existing system within the central service of the Federal Police. It is a system used 24/7 by thousands of field police officers.
Mission Description
- Monitoring the proper application of 'Policies'.
- Setting up the ABIS, F5, and Palo Alto infrastructure.
- Following up on the project and changes related to the infrastructure, troubleshooting this infrastructure where necessary.
- Following up and resolving tickets related to this project.
- Effectively intervening in crisis situations (organized attacks, network intrusions, virus detection, ...).
- Advising on the necessary technical solutions to secure connections to external partners, to the intranet, and to the internet.

In practice
- Duration: Until the end of the year (31/12/2026), extendable to 2027
- Regime: Full-time (40h/week), 220 days/year
- Workplace: rue Royale 202A, 1000 Brussels
- Working conditions: Presence at the office at least 2 times a week depending on tasks and in agreement with the team, telework allowed at home or at the employer’s premises (in Belgium)
- Team: multidisciplinary, mix of internal and external collaborators
