Mission: FileMaker consultancy as part of a database migration project

The Council of State is currently finalizing the migration of its databases from FileMaker 5 to version 19 of FileMaker.

They are seeking an expert FileMaker consultant (versions 5.5 up to the most recent ones) to assist in the final stages of this project. This consultant will work in close collaboration with the Council of State specialists responsible for the migration project and will ensure the transfer of the necessary knowledge for the smooth progress of the project.

Several intervention days are planned, with the following objectives:

• To verify the data model established by the Council of State specialists, and adapt it if necessary,
• To evaluate the performance of the new application, and improve it if necessary,
• To prepare the actual migration of data from FileMaker 5 to version 19 (export / import),
• To check the correct configuration of the FileMaker 19 server, and adapt it if necessary,
• To develop a mechanism for synchronizing FileMaker data with the MySQL environment used for publishing data on the Council of State website,
• To assist the Council of State specialists during the migration to resolve any issues the application might encounter at the beginning of its production deployment.

At this stage, 6 intervention days are planned but the mission could be extended depending on progress and needs. These days may take place on the Council of State site or via videoconference.
