As a functional analyst, you play a key role in analyzing user needs and assessing the technical feasibility of proposed solutions. You work closely with stakeholders to ensure that business requirements are well understood and aligned with existing IT solutions.

Job Content

• You conduct needs analyses to gain a clear picture of what the client wants and check the technical feasibility. You regularly consult in order to quickly, thoroughly, and fully obtain the company’s requirements.
• You participate in the analysis of existing or new projects.
• You ensure that the client has a realistic view of what to expect so that the needs and the project align with the existing IT structure and solutions.
• You think proactively and assertively with the company about the impact of their requirements and propose alternatives when necessary.
• You create detailed analyses and ensure that these are supported and approved by all parties involved.
• You consult with developers and testers and guide them when necessary, so they can develop or adapt applications according to the client’s wishes.

As an analyst, you are responsible for:

• Determining the scope of the application, together with the Business Product Owner.
• Supporting the role of Business Product Owner.
• Drafting Use Cases and User Stories.
• Creating UML diagrams.
• Managing the backlog.
• Testing the application (writing and validating tests).

Technical Skills

• You can clearly describe desired and existing processes using Functional Architecture, Use Cases, Data Model, Business and Functional Requirements.
• Good knowledge of UML and BPMN.
• Skill in drafting and reviewing documents for discussion with internal and external clients.
• Ability to translate processes into information usable for developers.
• Good knowledge of test methodologies and Agile development.
• Knowledge of SQL.
• Planning and management of Agile ceremonies.

Experience

You have relevant work experience as a functional analyst, where you performed at least four of the tasks below. You must have at least four years of experience for each task:

• Facilitating workgroups.
• Translating needs into functional analyses.
• Drafting User Stories.
• Experience with Agile and ITIL methodologies.
• Writing SQL queries.

Languages

The native language can be Dutch or French. Since you work in a bilingual environment, knowledge of the second national language (Dutch or French, depending on the native language) and of English is an asset.

In case of a positive evaluation, extension is possible.
