To efficiently tackle these challenges, Aquafin invests heavily in digital solutions. Within the Digital team, we develop and manage platforms that support the entire lifecycle of our projects: from the intake of new project ideas and portfolio optimization to managing project scope and monitoring ecological objectives.

In the coming years, we will take an important step in modernizing our application landscape. Part of the existing AS400 environment will be gradually replaced by modern custom platforms, while at the same time, new functionalities will be developed to better support our employees in their daily operations.

To help shape this digital transformation, we are looking for a Functional Analyst. In this role, you will work closely with the product team and various business stakeholders to translate needs into clear functional solutions. You support the development and validation of detailed analyses and ensure that new applications align as much as possible with Aquafin’s operational and strategic objectives.

• Provide analytical support to the product team InfraSquad in the functional development of the to-be solution
• Capture, structure, and translate functional needs into clear and workable analyses, scenarios, and solution proposals
• Close collaboration with Product Owner and Value Stream Owner who are responsible for delivering the solution
• Contribute to the preparation and refinement of epics, features, and user stories so the team has sufficient clear and validated input
• Prepare, facilitate, and process functional workshops with business stakeholders, team members, and external partners
• Explicitly document and follow up on functional decisions, assumptions, open questions, risks, and dependencies
• Help guard the functional consistency across end-to-end processes and various system components
• Investigate content dependencies:
• between legacy & target solution
• multiple functional domains
• custom (partial) solution and purchased (partial) solution
• Independently perform activities and clearly communicate results to the entire Product Team
• Independently develop test scenarios, test cases, and acceptance criteria based on the analyzed business and solution flow
• Carefully build and maintain the necessary documentation set, including:
• functional analyses
• process descriptions
• data flows and dependencies
• decision log
• test scenarios and test results
• functional agreements with internal and external parties
• Ensure knowledge retention within the team so that functional insights and decisions remain transparent and reusable
• Develop UX design screens, including via Figma; knowledge of AI is a plus

Profile

• +3 years relevant experience as a functional or process analyst (in engineering / utilities / waste management / equivalent) in (hybrid-) Agile, functionally complex, implementations
• +1 year relevant testing experience
• Dutch-speaking
• Team player with a drive to deliver results
• Independence, proactivity, and flexibility are a must
• Strong analytical mindset and able to work out abstract thinking processes
• Transparent communication skills including experience in using supporting tools (MS Office, MIRO, Figma, TFS/JIRA/DevOps, …)
