ICT-Architect (Expert)
De Lijn is looking for a Senior Domain (IT) Architect for the ICT & Data Architecture department. De Lijn is divided into different business units, also called domains. These are HR, Operations, Finance & Staff, Marketing & Mobility, and Technology & Supply Chain. A domain architect is responsible for the elaboration (down to solution IT level) of the Enterprise IT architecture within their assigned domain.
What do we expect from a domain architect's responsibilities:
- Analyzes the application and service portfolio of the assigned domain, and develops improvement trajectories that are included in the strategic or tactical ICT plan
- Designs the content of the architecture repository for the specific domain:
- IT layer (Domain IT architect)
- Designs the architecture, explains this to the business stakeholders, and submits it for validation to the validation body (Architecture Review Board). Does this for the specific domain:
- IT architecture (Domain IT architect)
- Prepares the IT part of the project mandate/proposal/PID (project initiation document), business case, and project plan:
- identifies business and IT risks
- identifies the IT solution
- makes an IT cost estimation
- makes an implementation estimation
- Monitors compliance with the domain architecture within projects
- Develops own expertise and keeps it up to date

Your assignment consists of helping determine which technical capabilities are needed. Subsequently, you will help guide their rollout.
You will work in an environment with a wide variety of technologies, from modern SaaS solutions and in-house development within our software factory, to large packages for our ERP and operational systems, and legacy technology related to buildings, fixed installations, and vehicles with a lifespan of several decades. As a domain architect, you navigate smoothly through all these worlds and try to unite them as efficiently as possible where necessary.
