International Payments Process Engineer

Mission context

Tribe Payments is looking for a Process Engineer in the IP Core squad responsible for managing and developing processes and systems related to International Payments. The emphasis is on running the sprint backlog, with the user stories that are prioritized by the Product Owner, based on their added value to the customer (internal or external). Our candidate should be able to handle both business and process analysis, while well documenting an E2E view and bringing together business needs, capabilities, technology and processes in an efficient and effective manner.

Function description

As E2E process manager, the Process Engineer:

  • Will define and implement new business (sub)processes, within the principles of "Business Architecture" (insofar as they are defined for the domain concerned) and the strategic objectives of the bank;
  • Make the necessary adjustments to existing processes;
  • Continuously strive to improve existing processes in terms of customer satisfaction, efficiency and risk management;
  • If appropriate, contribute to defining the needs for and testing the changes to the applications, with regard to the three aspects mentioned above;
  • Regularly monitor and assess the existing processes (based on key indicators, customer complaints, etc.) and, if possible, identify improvements;
  • Carry out analyses and studies on the 5 previous points;
  • Liaise and communicate with all involved at the appropriate time to realize the 6 items above, including, to keep in touch with reality on the floor, the operational teams;
  • Create and maintain sufficient (simple, understandable, easy to consult...) documentation, with a view to standardizing the implementation on the ground, solving incidents and supporting the resulting adjustments;
  • Ensure that the processes and their documentation comply with internal and external guidelines (Legal, Compliance, Permanent Control, General Inspection, etc.)

The Process Engineer also ensures appropriate guidance of the changes by:

  • Identifying the needs and/or
  • Carrying out the various steps of change management at the appropriate time to ensure that customers and employees master the new or changed processes, including the adjustments to the applications, and/or
  • Ensure follow-up and answer any questions after implementation of the changes (User support)

The Process Engineer, in collaboration with their Business and IT partners, actively participates in the reflection exercises during the ideation phases to ensure that the chosen solutions meet the needs of customers and employees as well as possible and are in line with the Bank's strategy as well as meet the objectives of efficiency (simplicity, lean, ...) and risk management.

Within the Agile way of working:

  • The Process Engineer is part of a multidisciplinary team (Squad or Cluster of Squads) that groups the competencies necessary for defining, building, testing and implementing a (part of a) product or service within a limited time span.
  • The Process Engineer is committed to helping the team to deliver the stories in the planned sprints, not limiting themselves to their specific area of expertise. The emphasis is on executing the sprint backlog, with stories prioritized by the Product Owner in function of the added value for the (internal or external) customer.
  • The Process Engineer organizes their work independently, among other things by estimating the scope and complexity of the tasks to be performed.
  • The Process Engineer commits themselves to the work to be carried out during a sprint or trimester (via the Agile Ceremonies including the Quarterly Agile Planning).
