Working environment

The Directorate of Special Units of the Federal Police (DSU) is a highly specialized support unit that provides and/or implements specialist support, tactics and techniques for the local and federal police. The DSU focuses on serious organized crime and the activities of terrorist and extremist groups. DSU is a police service that can be deployed throughout Belgium and abroad if necessary.

The NTSU (National Technical & Tactical Support Unit) is part of the Special Units of the Federal Judicial Police. It is primarily responsible for preparing and carrying out discreet placements of equipment as part of special search methods and in crisis situations. Within the NTSU, the CTIF (Central Technical Interception Facility) is responsible for real-time interception and observation of telecommunications. CTIF has the necessary infrastructure to carry out its missions and is also developing its own solutions to make telecommunications interception more effective in the future.

Job description

We are looking for a skilled and motivated IT Application Coordinator to join our growing and dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in IT application management, along with some first experiences in project coordination. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of critical business applications.

Responsibilities:

• Support the testing, deployment, and implementation of new application solutions.

• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues in supported applications.

• Work closely with the Product Owner to ensure technical requirements are met and end-user expectations are fulfilled.

• Create and maintain documentation, including procedures, test plans, and user support materials.

• Contribute as a team player while also being capable of working independently.

• Take responsibility for assigned tasks, assess risks appropriately, and seek guidance when necessary.

• Demonstrate initiative, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to self-learning and development.

Required experience:

• IT Application experience: 3 years

• Project management experience: 3 years

Profile description

• You hold a bachelor’s degree or have 2 to 5 years of relevant professional experience.

• You have experience in end-to-end project coordination or management related to IT applications.

• You are fluent in either Dutch or French and have a solid understanding of the other language.

• You have a good command of written and spoken technical English.

A ‘TOP SECRET’ level security clearance is required for this position, as referred to in the law of 11/12/1998 on classification, security clearances, attestations and notices.
