IT-Architect Modern Workplace
Context
The Federal Pension Service wishes to hire an IT-Architect Modern Workplace who will play a crucial role in the design of the offices and buildings of the service. The main goal of the assignment is to design and implement a Modern Workplace that perfectly matches the needs of the Federal Pension Service and its partner organizations.
The first project you will work on is the Copernicus project. This new building in Antwerp, which is shared with other independent partner organizations, must not only provide an efficient and collaborative work environment, but also require an innovative approach to optimally utilize this shared space. In addition, there are other buildings in the pipeline.
Duration of the assignment: 1 year, maximum extension of 1 year.
The IT-Architect Modern Workplace plays a crucial role in the design of the offices and buildings of the Federal Pension Service. The tasks focus on designing and implementing a Modern Workplace that perfectly matches the needs of the Federal Pension Service and its partner organizations, while respecting the autonomy of the organization.
As IT-Architect, you coordinate the activities regarding:
- A shared network infrastructure that guarantees reliable connections between workstations, servers, and devices, enabling efficient collaboration and communication, while ensuring the separation of traffic.
- Integration of Modern Workplace solutions with the existing information systems of the various organizations.
- Advanced print systems and modern meeting rooms with interactive technologies on the mentioned network infrastructure.
- Building management software that ensures a comfortable and energy-efficient work environment.
- Reception areas, dynamic displays, and digital boards that provide employees and visitors with relevant information.
- Ergonomically designed workstations, equipped with high-quality hardware and access to necessary software tools, adapted to different needs.
- Support of daily routines through technologies such as video conferencing systems and digital whiteboards.
- Implementation of Modern Workplace principles and models.
- Regularly collecting feedback from employees to ensure that workplaces evolve and grow with the changing dynamics within the Federal Pension Service.
Technical Skills and Experience
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is required.
In addition, you must have at least five years of demonstrable experience in IT architecture, with a strong emphasis on Modern Workplace and enduser solutions and NWOW.
Technical conceptual knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networks, cloud computing, and cybersecurity, is also required.
It is essential that you have thorough knowledge of Modern Workplace applications in M365.
You must also have extensive experience with NWOW principles. This includes designing flexible workplaces that can be adapted to various work styles, integrating technologies that support both remote and office work, and creating spaces that support different work activities, such as meetings, concentration, and collaboration.

In addition, you are expected to have a basic knowledge of project management, including skills in planning, organization, and budget management for coordinating IT projects.
Generic Skills
You must be skilled in analyzing complex technical problems and able to design scalable, high-performance solutions.
Basic knowledge of project management is also required, including skills in planning and organization for coordinating IT projects, as well as experience with budget management and cost estimation.
Good communication and collaboration skills are of great importance. This includes effective communication with various stakeholders, from IT teams to end users, and collaborating with diverse teams and (external) organizations to achieve common goals. You must be able to present ideas and plans clearly.
Innovation and problem-solving are crucial aspects of this role. You should be able to think creatively and come up with innovative solutions for complex problems. Analytical skills are required to analyze data and identify trends and needs. Flexibility to adapt to changing technologies and work methods is also important.
For this position, you must be physically present at the SFPD buildings in Brussels at least 2 days per week.
