IT Project Manager SAP Infrastructure OnPrem & NIS2

Mission Description

You will work within the Business Solutions department and report to the Manager Build & Transform. The main mission of the department is to ensure internal performance by providing quality IT solutions. We develop, operate, and maintain a wide range of internal IT solutions such as the SAP suite, as well as document management systems like SharePoint, Documentum, or OpenText, case management solutions, the intranet, as well as the STIB mobile application and website. We propose and develop a strategic vision for the digital evolution of STIB’s internal performance.

You will join the Build & Transform team, responsible for

The mission mainly covers:

  • the migration of servers supporting the SAP OnPrem infrastructure landscape;
  • the Oracle – Sybase migration, notably with the aim of optimizing licenses related to the ECC6 environment;
  • coordinating the establishment of the technical roadmap for the SAP OnPrem infrastructure, as well as monitoring its execution;
  • coordinating NIS2 activities within the department.

Your Role

As an IT Project Manager, you are responsible for the end-to-end management of technical projects related to the SAP OnPrem landscape, from scoping through to go-live and the transition to RUN.

You act as the main coordination point between technical teams, security teams, architects, SAP managers, external vendors, and management.

Main Responsibilities

1. Scoping & Structuring

The Project Manager will:

  • initiate, define, and structure projects and work packages related to the SAP OnPrem infrastructure;
  • define the technical, architectural, security, operational, and budgetary scope;
  • build the global planning, milestones, dependencies, and capacity planning;
  • identify technical, organizational, and contractual risks;
  • clarify roles and responsibilities between internal teams, vendors, and partners;
  • ensure alignment of initiatives with the IT roadmap and department priorities.

These responsibilities are consistent with the source document, which expects the PM to define the scope, build the planning and capacity planning, ensure alignment, and prepare projects.

2. SAP OnPrem Server Migration

The PM will be responsible for coordinating the migration of servers in the SAP OnPrem environment, including:

  • identifying SAP servers involved in the migration;
  • coordinating technical and application impact analyses;
  • planning migrations per environment: DEV, QAS, PRD, sandbox, or others;
  • coordinating intervention windows, planned downtimes, and rollback plans;
  • monitoring prerequisites for infrastructure, network, storage, backup, monitoring, and security;
  • coordinating technical tests, application tests, performance tests, and post-migration validations;
  • preparing go-live and transfer to the RUN teams.

3. Oracle – Sybase Migration / ECC6 License Optimization

The Project Manager will also lead the migration or rationalization of the Oracle – Sybase database platform in the ECC6 context, with a goal of license optimization.

Their responsibilities include:

  • planning the database migration with SAP Basis, infrastructure, DBA teams, and vendors;
  • coordinating activities for conversion, migration, testing, and validation;
  • managing risks related to performance, compatibility, backups, and restoration;
  • monitoring the expected benefits in terms of license optimization;
  • preparing governance decisions related to costs, risks, and arbitrations.

4. SAP OnPrem Technical Roadmap

The PM will coordinate the establishment and execution of the SAP OnPrem technical roadmap.

This includes:

  • organizing workshops with architects, SAP Basis, infrastructure, security, and application managers;
  • consolidating technical initiatives into a prioritized roadmap;
  • identifying obsolescence, technical constraints, support risks, and rationalization opportunities;
  • defining implementation work packages, dependencies, budgets, and required resources;
  • monitoring roadmap execution;
  • preparing arbitrations for governance committees;
  • producing clear reporting for management.

5. Coordination of NIS2 Activities

The Project Manager will contribute to the coordination of NIS2-related activities within the department.

This is not necessarily a cybersecurity expert role, but a project coordination role, including:

  • monitoring NIS2 actions assigned to the department;
  • coordinating with security, compliance, architecture, infrastructure, and application teams;
  • consolidating planning, dependencies, risks, and status;
  • preparing reports and follow-up committees;
  • tracking remediation of identified gaps;
  • escalating blockages and necessary arbitrations;
  • integrating NIS2 requirements into SAP infrastructure projects where relevant.

Desired Profile

The ideal candidate is an IT Project Manager with proven experience in managing technical and cross-functional IT projects.

They must demonstrate:

  • solid experience in IT infrastructure project management;
  • experience in technical migration projects, servers, databases, or critical platforms;
  • a good understanding of OnPrem issues: servers, storage, network, backup, monitoring, security, performance;
  • ability to manage projects with many technical dependencies;
  • experience in vendor management and coordination of internal/external teams;
  • strong structuring, synthesis, communication, and escalation skills;
  • experience in project governance: planning, budget, risks, reporting, committees, change requests;
  • sensitivity or experience with cybersecurity, compliance, or NIS2 topics.

  • English: good

The mission can be extended for a maximum duration (initial duration included) of: 880 working days.
