CAPAC System Administrator / DevOps (Infrastructure)

Context: Modernization of IT infrastructure and strengthening infra/dev collaboration.

We are in the process of finalizing the migration from VMware to Hyper-V. At the same time, we are strengthening our Infrastructure team for two major challenges: improving collaboration between our infrastructure and development teams, and supporting our 600 users with the use of a modern and secure Windows infrastructure.

You are a key figure at the intersection of these two worlds: a technical interface between developers and infrastructure, and a reference expert for our end users regarding questions about environment, network, and security.

Your responsibilities

Management of Windows environments

  • Management and optimization of Hyper-V environments in production
  • Management and maintenance of Windows servers according to best practices
  • Management of critical network services: DNS, DHCP, NPS
  • Management and securing of Fortigate firewalls
  • Implementation of solid security policies (access, segmentation, hardening)
  • Monitoring infrastructures and detecting incidents before they become critical

Support for developers and Cloud environments

  • Technical interface between the Infrastructure team and developers
  • Support of developers on the Hyper-V and OpenShift environments
  • Rapid troubleshooting and facilitation of technical dialogue in application-related infrastructure issues
  • Contribution to better mutual understanding of infrastructure and development requirements
  • Participation in the improvement of deployment and support processes

Support for end users

  • Reliable and rapid level 3 support for ~600 users
  • Management of Windows updates, network configurations, and user-related security issues
  • Clear documentation of solutions and user training
  • Contribution to security policy and NIS2 compliance

Transversal management

  • Design and maintenance of robust and tested backup strategies (Veeam)
  • Clear documentation of your decisions and up-to-date status of critical procedures
  • Close collaboration with Infrastructure, Development, and Security teams
  • Clear communication about technical risks and solutions
  • Support for other teams during major incidents

Desired profile

Technical skills

  • Proven operational expertise in Windows IT infrastructure
  • Good knowledge of Hyper-V and virtualization environments
  • Solid knowledge of networking and security
  • Scripting (PowerShell, Bash)
  • Understanding of Cloud environments and containers (OpenShift)
  • Basic knowledge of Java appreciated (facilitates discussions with developers)
  • Knowledge of NIS2 and/or ISO 27001 (major advantage)
  • Backup and recovery (Veeam or equivalent)

Experience

  • At least 10 years of proven experience as a System Administrator or equivalent
  • Real experience with management and support of Windows servers in a critical environment
  • Experience with user and incident management
  • Ability to adapt in a transformational IT environment

Languages

  • French or Dutch: native language
  • The other language (Dutch or French): good knowledge
  • Technical English: essential for the job

Education

  • At least higher education in computer science (graduate, bachelor, master)
  • Certificates related to Windows Server or Cloud (advantage)
