Medior Engineer
As an IT Murex Specialist, you will be responsible for the technical configuration, stability, integrations, and performance of Murex (MX.3) in a banking/financial services environment.
You will work closely with business stakeholders, developers, infrastructure, and risk teams to ensure a reliable, high-performing, and compliant platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical configuration & maintenance of Murex (MX.3), including workflows, data models, and reference data.
- Installation, upgrades, and patching of Murex components (including coordination of testing in non-prod and prod).
- Performance tuning & monitoring (app servers, batch, Datamart, MxML exchanges).
- Set up and maintain integrations & interfaces (market data, risk engines, downstream systems).
- Incident, problem & change management (root cause analysis, post-incident reviews, CAPA).
- Automation of deployments, health checks, and housekeeping via scripting.
- Security & compliance (access management, audit trails, segregation of duties).
- Documentation of technical architecture, configurations, and runbooks.
- Collaboration with business/risk to translate requirements into technical designs and implementations.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on expertise with Murex MX.3 (core processing, MxML, Datamart, Simulation/PnL, workflows).
- Unix/Linux proficiency, Shell scripting (bash/ksh), and SQL (Oracle/Sybase).
- Programming skills in Java and/or Python (tooling, adapters, automation).
- Experience with databases (Oracle performance, indexing, partitioning).
- Middleware & messaging (IBM MQ, Kafka) and API integrations (REST/SOAP).
- Job scheduling (Control M, Autosys) and logging/monitoring (Elastic, Splunk, Prometheus/Grafana).
- Understanding of market risk concepts (VaR, sensitivities, scenarios) is a strong plus.

- Cloud: Azure/AWS (networking, storage, security; lift-and-shift or refactoring of Murex satellites).
- Containerization: Docker/Kubernetes (where relevant for satellite tools).
- Familiarity with ITIL, Agile/Scrum, and SRE practices (SLA/SLO/SLI).
- Experience with regulatory reporting and audit requirements in financial institutions.
Education & Experience
- Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 3–7 years experience in a Murex role (technical/environment/integration). Senior profiles also welcome.
- Background in banking/capital markets is a strong asset.
