NxtPort is the digital data platform for the Antwerp-Bruges port community. We connect terminals, shipping companies, freight forwarders, carriers, logistics service providers, and government authorities through innovative digital solutions. Role

As a Medior QA Engineer, you are responsible for ensuring the quality of our digital platforms, APIs, and cloud-based applications. You work closely with business analysts, product owners, software developers, and operational stakeholders to ensure that new functionalities meet functional and non-functional requirements.

You take an active role in the entire software development process and contribute to the further professionalization of QA within NxtPort.

Responsibilities

Test Analysis and Preparation

• Analyzing business and functional requirements.
• Creating and maintaining test scenarios and test cases.
• Identifying risks and defining test strategies.
• Validating acceptance criteria together with business and product owners.

Test Execution

• Executing functional, system, regression, and integration tests.
• Verifying API integrations between different logistics and maritime systems.
• Performing end-to-end validations across multiple applications and platforms.
• Logging, following up, and validating defects.

Test Automation

• Developing and maintaining automated test scenarios.
• Supporting CI/CD quality controls within Azure DevOps.
• Integrating automated tests within development and release processes.
• Contributing to a shift-left testing approach.

Test Management and Reporting

• Monitoring test progress and test results.
• Reporting quality risks to project teams and stakeholders.
• Supporting release and acceptance processes.
• Contributing to continuous improvements of QA processes and standards.

Collaboration

• Close collaboration with developers, business analysts, and product owners.
• Supporting user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Knowledge sharing within the QA and development team.
• Advising on quality improvements and test methodologies.

Technical Knowledge

• Azure DevOps

Assets

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure).

Security Screening

All consultants/freelancers who will be employed at NxtPort are subject to Security screening: The screening consists of a comprehensive investigation into a person's background and reliability. This investigation is conducted by consulting various judicial and police databases. The objective is to assess whether a person is reliable to perform a critical function and/or to gain access to sensitive infrastructure. The screening covers numerous sectors, including the port sector.

When submitting the proposal, the Supplier must agree to propose only Consultants who are willing to undergo this security investigation.

The security screening process can take up to 30 days: the Supplier accepts this waiting period and ensures that the candidate remains available during the screening process.

Only the Consultant(s) from the Supplier selected by the Client for this contract will be subject to the security investigation.

The Security Officer of the Client (as administrative authority) forwards the individual request for security investigation to the competent Federal Police, which will issue a security recommendation based on the investigation.

A negative security recommendation will be communicated to the Consultant concerned via the Client’s Security Officer (as administrative authority). This notification will state the reasons justifying this decision, with the exception of information the disclosure of which could harm the fundamental interests of Belgium or the State. The notification will also include information about the possibility to appeal this decision.

If there is no positive security result (for example, if no recommendation can be given) from the Federal Police, the vacancy will be terminated without contracting.

If the positive security recommendation is lost during the term of the contract, the contract will be terminated without any compensation.
