Job Description

The Federal Pension Service (FPS) is looking for a Technical Lead Modern Workplace who will play a key role in the technical development, stability, and further evolution of the digital workplace.

The position is part of the Digital Workplace Team, a team of experienced specialists responsible for managing, optimizing, and renewing the end‑user IT environment. The team works closely with other IT teams, projects, and stakeholders to realize modern, secure, and user-friendly workplace solutions, with a strong focus on Microsoft 365, cloud technologies, and hybrid working models.

As a Technical Lead, you combine in-depth technical expertise with substantive leadership: you guide solutions from a content perspective, support colleagues, and safeguard technical quality, without taking on a purely architectural or hierarchical role.

Purpose of the position:

As Technical Lead Modern Workplace, you are responsible for the technical direction, quality, and consistency of the Modern Workplace solutions. You are the substantive reference point for complex technical issues and support the team in design choices, implementations, and optimizations.

You work hands-on where necessary, guide less experienced profiles, and ensure that solutions remain performant, secure, and manageable. In doing so, you actively contribute to reducing technical debt and improving the end-user experience within a hybrid working context.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Substantively and technically steering Modern Workplace solutions within the team.
• Contributing to the design, implementation, and optimization of M365 services (Office 365, Entra ID, collaboration solutions).
• Acting as a technical point of contact for complex incidents, changes, and improvement initiatives.
• Supporting and coaching team members on technical issues and best practices.
• Safeguarding the technical cohesion, stability, and security of the digital workplace.
• Contributing to technical standards, guidelines, and reference implementations.
• Integrating Modern Workplace solutions with existing IT services and systems.
• Supporting hybrid working models (NWOW / HWOW) from a practical and technological standpoint.
• Actively contributing to projects through technical input, design reviews, and implementation support.
• Preparing and maintaining technical documentation and operational guidelines.
• Proactively following technological evolutions within Modern Workplace and M365.

Technical Skills and experience

• IT architecture or Technology Lead: a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in complex IT environments, with a focus on technical guidance and decision-making.
• Modern Workplace / End-User Solutions: at least 15 years of hands-on experience in designing, building, and evolving digital workplace solutions.
• Microsoft 365: at least 15 years of practical experience with M365 workloads, including Office 365, Entra ID, and collaboration services.
• Cloud and security concepts: at least 5 years of experience with cloud concepts (Azure) and basic cybersecurity principles around identity, access management, and endpoint security.
• NWOW / HWOW (New / Hybrid Ways of Working): at least 3 years of demonstrable experience supporting hybrid or remote working models.
• Project context: at least 3 years of experience in project-driven environments, with active contribution to technical choices, design reviews, and implementations.
