Context

The National Institute for the Social Security of the Self-Employed (RSVZ) protects the social status of self-employed entrepreneurs—from the establishment of their business to after their retirement—and thus contributes to their social and economic well-being.

The IT department is a dynamic environment that responds to technological evolutions. More than 150 people work in this department, and agile working methods are applied (scrum methodology). Stakeholders are Dutch or French speaking.

The 11 development teams are composed in a multidisciplinary way. Team Black is a platform team that works transversally within INF. The team works according to SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) to deliver high-quality and scalable applications.

The team includes a Scrum Master, Developers, AI Software Engineers, Ops Engineer, and a Product Owner.

The current focus of the team is on making the Azure Cloud platform usable for other development teams.

We are currently looking for an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer to strengthen the team.

As an experienced DevOps Engineer, you are responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable .NET applications in an Azure environment. You work closely with other IT department staff to deliver software iteratively and incrementally. You participate in PI (Program Increment) Planning and other Agile ceremonies, and you play a key role in ensuring the quality and performance of our software.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and maintaining reusable .NET components using C#, ASP.NET Core. These components are reused by other development teams, and you provide support and documentation for them.
• Designing, developing, and maintaining reusable Azure DevOps CI/CD components using C#, Powershell, YAML pipelines, and Bicep files.
• Collaborating with cross-functional, agile teams within a SAFe environment: you work closely with other developers, testers, architects, product owner, and scrum masters to deliver software iteratively and incrementally.
• Participating in PI Planning and other Agile ceremonies.
• Analyzing and resolving technical issues. You are responsible for solving bugs and providing technical support to less experienced colleagues within and outside your development team.
• Quality assurance and code reviews: You are responsible for conducting code reviews and ensuring code quality through unit tests, integration tests, and other QA methods.
• Contributing to technical documentation and knowledge sharing within and outside the team. You create technical documentation, review documentation prepared by less experienced colleagues within the development team.
• Providing technical leadership and coaching less experienced team members.
• Continuously improving development processes and software quality. In doing so, you keep up with trends and developments regarding technologies and methodologies in your domain.

Education and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
