Function Context
This position supports the operational management unit for radioactive waste and materials at ONDRAF - Fleurus (ONSF, dismantling activities). The main tasks are:
- Preparation of specific documents and files related to the management of waste and materials:
- Preparation of approval files for waste streams: radiological characterization files and files on physico-chemical compliance methods;
- Preparation of procedures and instructions associated with the management of waste and materials resulting from remediation and dismantling activities;
- Preparation of files for the removal of waste and materials or for their conditional and unconditional release, etc.;
- Keeping inventories up to date;
- Support for establishing management methodologies for materials (including activated concrete) from remediation and dismantling (measurement methodology, release methodology, etc.) and operational procedures;
- Various support for the compliance unit activities of the ONSF, including verification and compliance checks on site of waste generated during remediation and dismantling;
- Auditing subcontractors responsible for characterization measurements of waste and materials;
- Training of dismantling operators on acceptance criteria, waste management procedures, etc.;
- Support for the management and documentation of the waste management process operation (keeping databases and documents up to date, etc.).
What skills will enable you to succeed in this mission?
- You have a Master's degree in a field related to materials (materials engineer, chemical engineer, etc.) or in the nuclear field. A specialization in the field of radioactive waste/materials is an asset;
- You have at least 5 years of experience in the management of radioactive waste and materials – Knowledge of the Belgian framework (legislation, transport, acceptance criteria, management application system in Belgium) is an asset;
- You have skills and experience in the field of radiological characterization of materials and waste (gamma spectrometry theory, equipment and QA, analysis and interpretation of measurements), which are important assets;
- You have a good command of French (spoken and written);
- You are a team player and can also work independently;
- You are dynamic and helpful, you work quickly and with great rigor, you follow up conscientiously and proactively on the tasks for which you are responsible;
- You adapt to the specific requirements of dismantling site activities (changing priorities, stress resistance, etc.).
