Role: Office Automation Expert - European Parliament

Location: Brussels, Belgium - European Parliament

Responsibilities

Following tasks will be performed by external service provider:

• Control and improvement of the quality of service provided by the support team
• Aligning customer expectations and objective of the support team
• Monitoring customer satisfaction, and reporting to Team Leaders
• Providing knowledge, methods and training to team members to achieve goals and targets
• Installation and configuration of PC, Mac and mobile devices hardware
• Installation and configuration of software components in the PC, Mac configuration or mobile devices
• Administration of the local IT environment, directly related to workplace such as the PC or mobile devices environment
• Perform all tasks of a service desk operator (SDO) or IT Support Specialist (ITSS) or Local System Administrator (LSA) whenever needed
• Liaising with third level support, server-, system- and database administration, including other departments and external suppliers
• Report any issue that affect his/her work directly to the team leader
• Participating in defining and documenting configuration of the PC or mobile devices environment
• Documenting operational support procedures
• Drafting technical content for knowledge database
• Security administration and monitoring, in adherence to the security rules imposed by the Parliament's central security service (complemented by local rules where needed). This task includes anti-virus protection
• Software asset management
• License management

Requirements

Following skills are required for the performance of the above listed tasks:

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience
• ITIL V4 Foundation Certified (or certification required within 3 months of contract start)
• Highly experienced with Bash & PowerShell scripting
• Great experience handling PowerShell modes to assist with the administration of colleagues' systems
• Proficiency in setting up and managing scheduled tasks on servers
• Experience with scripting for network drive mapping based on user group membership
• Great experience using Git/GitLab
• Strong Windows expertise including Windows Server & User, configuration tools, Active Directory & GPO
• Good understanding of Linux (Ubuntu)
• Solid experience with MySQL database management
• Extensive experience with ServiceNow for ticket management and reporting
• Experience with Jira
• Proficient with video conferencing tools such as Microsoft Teams and Webex
• Basic audiovisual knowledge
• Strong experience with Office Automation and hybrid environments (Windows, macOS, MS Office, productivity apps, mobile computing)
• Experience supporting mobile devices (iPads, iPhones)
• Familiarity with remote access tools (Citrix, token-based authentication)
• Understanding of VMWare and virtualized Linux servers
• Experience supporting printers and Multi-Functional Devices (MFDs)
• Good understanding of IT security policies and credential management
• Highly autonomous and IT skilled

Languages:

• Excellent knowledge of English - Level C1 in Understanding, Speaking and Writing
• Great knowledge of French - Level C1 in Understanding, Speaking and Writing
