Role: Office Automation Expert - European Parliament
Location: Brussels, Belgium (Hybrid) - European Parliament

Responsibilities

Following tasks will be performed by external service provider:

• Reviewing and validating existing scripts
• Source management
• Managing and updating modules for the team
• Managing login scripts for all workstations
• Managing the scheduled tasks server and the tasks themselves
• Centralizing and concatenating information from logs, databases, or Active Directory upon request
• Administration of the local IT environment, directly related to workplace such as the PC or mobile devices environment
• Perform all tasks of a service desk operator (SDO) or IT Support Specialist (ITSS) or Local System Administrator (LSA) whenever needed
• Liaising with third level support, server-, system- and database administration, including other department and external suppliers
• Participating in defining and documenting configuration of the PC or mobile devices environment
• Security administration and monitoring, in adherence to the security rules imposed by the Parliament's central security service (complemented by local rules where needed). This task includes anti-virus protection
• Software asset management
• License management

Requirements

Following skills are required for the performance of the above listed tasks:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in similar roles
• ITIL V4 Foundation Certified (or certification required within 3 months of contract start)
• Highly experienced with Bash & PowerShell scripting
• Great experience handling PowerShell modes to assist with the administration of colleagues' systems
• A solid understanding of object-oriented programming and the internal workings of Windows (Registry, .NET, etc.) is a strong plus
• Great experience querying SQL Server using PowerShell
• Experience accessing Active Directory through ADSI, as the Active Directory module is not available on workstations
• Great experience centralizing and processing logs from various formats
• Good experience working with Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) and the Common Information Model (CIM) to retrieve system data
• Experience with scripting for network drive mapping based on user group membership
• Strong Windows expertise including Windows Server & User, configuration tools, Active Directory & GPO
• Extensive experience with ServiceNow for ticket management and reporting
• Strong experience with Office Automation and hybrid environments (Windows, macOS, MS Office, productivity apps, mobile computing)
• Understanding of VMWare and virtualized Linux servers

Languages:

• Excellent knowledge of English - Level C1 in Understanding, Speaking and Writing
• Great knowledge of French - Level C1 in Understanding, Speaking and Writing
