PLC, SCADA and alarm software programmer

As a PLC, SCADA and Alarm Software Programmer, you are responsible for both the technical implementation and the project management of these projects.

Your tasks consist of three components: replacing end-of-life PLCs for WWTPs and stand-alone units, upgrading stand-alone SCADA systems, and providing technical support for the replacement project for Aquafin’s central alarm software.

1) You are the project leader for around 50 replacements of PLCs of PE units at installations throughout Flanders. These are always replaced by an M262 PLC (SE) including HMI, where you can start from the standard application. After visiting the installation, you coordinate the conversion with the operational team and work together with an electrical contractor who handles the conversion and connection of the hardware, including adapting the electrical diagrams. If necessary, you also adapt diagrams yourself. You follow up the projects from start to delivery. In addition, you also implement PLC upgrades at various Aquafin installations, migrating from PL7 PLCs to M580 PLC.

2) You are the project leader for the migration of two very extensive stand-alone SCADA systems FIX32 to iFIX desktop on a continuously operating installation. You prepare the migration and carry it out during the shutdown of the installation.

3) You are the technical expert for the SCADA and Alarm software integration and support the project team that is preparing the replacement of Aquafin’s central alarm software Enterprise Alert (Derdack), where you support the migration from the Derdack app to the Signl4 app and perform the necessary tests and checks between the central SCADA (Automation X) and the alarm software. For this, you work closely with our partner who is responsible for the alarm software (SaaS).

Good cooperation is of great importance in this. You will work at our headquarters in Aartselaar, three days a week. It is permitted to work remotely two days a week. You will have a car and travel to the installations is included.

In this role you report to the Manager OT-Solutions. In addition, you work closely in the project team with other Engineers within the OT, IT and Operations departments.
