PostgreSQL Database Administrator/Engineer

Project

The Federal Police is undergoing an ambitious digital and organizational transformation. Within the Digital Transformation Office (DTO), we are contributing to more modern processes, stronger operational support, and more data-driven services. From the pillars of IT, innovation and intelligence/data, we work on stable foundations, future-oriented technologies, and better support for field services. Do you want to make an impact in an environment where digitization, legacy modernization, and social relevance converge?

The assignment consists of designing, managing, and optimizing a secure, modern, and high-performance PostgreSQL database environment within the Systems Division (DIST), with a strong emphasis on security and reliability.

The focus is on managing and optimizing PostgreSQL databases (backup/restore, monitoring, performance tuning), designing database structures, and developing data synchronization mechanisms.

The candidate also plays an active role in the backend development of applications in Python, integrates these with PostgreSQL databases, and sets up CI/CD pipelines in GitLab. Optionally, knowledge of the Elastic Stack is utilized to support monitoring and logging activities.

Mission

For this assignment, we are looking for an experienced technical profile with at least 5 years of relevant experience in database administration, specifically in PostgreSQL. The person must be able to manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases, including backup and restore procedures, monitoring and performance tuning, and designing database structures.

The assignment requires experience with Python backend programming, including developing REST APIs, and integrating these Python backend programs with PostgreSQL databases. In addition, the candidate sets up and manages CI/CD pipelines in GitLab to automate development processes.

The candidate supports development projects by designing custom database solutions (preferably with experience in microservices architectures) and provides, if necessary, support in the implementation and configuration of other DBMS systems. Optionally, knowledge of the Elastic Stack is used to support monitoring and logging activities.
