Power BI Functional Data Analyst / Data Model and Dataset Developer

In recent years, the FAVV has been striving to become a fully data-driven organization and relies on a central data warehouse for its reporting and analysis.

Given the rapidly evolving technologies and business needs, FAVV now wishes to modernize this platform by migrating it to the Microsoft Azure cloud. This transition involves the implementation of new, powerful tools, including Microsoft Fabric (ETL) and Power BI.

To help us with this challenge, we are looking for two Power BI Functional Data Analysts / data model and dataset developers.

Mission:

  • Understand business processes and their interdependencies
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Design and optimize datasets and their data models from the data warehouse
  • In collaboration with Data Engineers, align Power BI models with the star schemas/Snowflake of the data warehouse managed by MS Fabric processes
  • Implement and ensure governance, security, publication, monitoring, and performance of datasets
  • Take an active role in testing and validating developed datasets
  • Respect standards, governance, and internal procedures
  • Document the developed solutions

Technical skills:

  • Power BI Desktop & Service (datasets, reports, dashboards)
  • Tabular modeling and dataset optimization in the cloud
  • Data Warehouse concepts (Kimball/Inmon modeling, star schema, snowflake)
  • Advanced knowledge of DAX, Power Query, SQL
  • Row-Level Security, Power BI and data governance on Azure
  • Integration Power BI ↔ Microsoft Fabric / Azure
  • CI/CD for Power BI (Azure DevOps or GitHub)
  • Knowledge of Sparx Enterprise Architect for documentation and knowledge of SAP BI universes are a plus.

Required profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in Power BI (implementation and modeling of datasets) in a professional environment
  • At least 5 years of work experience in functional analysis and data analysis
  • Practical knowledge of data modeling methodologies
  • Practical knowledge of SQL, advanced DAX, Power Query, MS Fabric
  • Excellent communication and pedagogical skills
  • Sense of optimization
  • Ability to work in a team and to popularize technical concepts
  • FR/NL with a good passive knowledge of the other language (required)
