Power BI Functional Data Analyst / Developer
For several years, the FASFC has been striving to become a fully data-driven organization and relies on a central data warehouse for its reporting and analysis.
Given the rapidly evolving technologies and business needs, the FASFC now wants to modernize this platform by migrating it to the Microsoft Azure cloud. This transition is accompanied by the implementation of new, powerful tools, including Microsoft Fabric (ETL) and Power BI. To help us with this challenge, we are looking for a Power BI Functional Data Analyst / Developer
Mission:
- Understanding business processes and their interdependencies
- Translating business needs into technical requirements
- Designing and optimizing datasets and their data models from the data warehouse
- In collaboration with Data Engineers, aligning Power BI models with the star schemas/Snowflake of the data warehouse managed by MS Fabric processes
- Implementing and ensuring the governance, security, publication, monitoring, and performance of datasets
- Playing an active role in testing and validation of the developed datasets
- Respecting standards, governance, and internal procedures
- Documenting the developed solutions
Technical skills:
- Power BI Desktop & Service (datasets, reports, dashboards)
- Tabular modeling and dataset optimization in the cloud
- Data Warehouse concepts (Kimball/Inmon modeling, star schema, snowflake)
- Advanced knowledge of DAX, Power Query, SQL
- Row-Level Security, Power BI and data governance on Azure
- Power BI ↔ Microsoft Fabric / Azure integration
- CI/CD for Power BI (Azure DevOps or GitHub)
- Knowledge of Sparx Enterprise Architect for documentation is a plus
- Knowledge of SAP BI universes is a plus
Required profile:
- Bachelor in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- At least 3 years of experience in Power BI (implementation and modeling of datasets) in a professional environment
- At least 5 years of work experience in functional analysis and data analysis
- Practical knowledge of data modeling methodologies
- Practical knowledge of SQL, advanced DAX, Power Query, MS Fabric
- Excellent communication and pedagogical skills
- Sense of optimization
- Ability to work in a team and to popularize technical concepts
- FR/NL with passive knowledge of the other language
