Aquafin manages more than 325 wastewater treatment plants, nearly 2025 wastewater pumping stations, and more than 7085 km of sewers in Flanders.

Sludge is one of the by-products that remains after the purification process—a substance with value! Because when sludge is dried, you get a product that can be fully used as a green energy source and raw material. In a 5-shift system, you and your colleagues from the Dryer Deurne team ensure the qualitative and reliable operation of the sludge line, sludge processing installation, and the dryer in Deurne. This way, you not only work towards clean water, but also contribute to the reuse of raw materials and the production of green energy.

ROLE

You are responsible for the operation of the sludge processing and dryer.

You carry out inspections, take samples, check measurements, and adjust process parameters where necessary.

With your good knowledge of electromechanics, you detect electrical and mechanical faults on the one hand, and on the other, you ensure preventive maintenance.

To properly monitor everything in the process, you are responsible for administrative follow-up and the necessary reporting.

REQUIREMENTS

• Good knowledge of electromechanics and electricity
• In possession of a professional competence certificate BA4/BA5 and add this to your application
• Able to work independently and responsibly
• You are proficient with Microsoft 365 apps and also handle administrative tasks
• You speak and master Dutch like a native speaker

Working in a 5-shift system: (early, late, night, day, rest)

You are on standby for about 2 out of 15 days during the day shift.

You work in a 5-shift system alternating between early, late, night, and day shifts.

• Shift 1: Monday to Sunday early shift (6am – 2pm) / Monday & Tuesday rest
• Shift 2: Wednesday to Tuesday late shift (2pm-10pm) / Wednesday & Thursday rest
• Shift 3: Friday to Thursday night shift (2pm – 10pm) / Friday, Saturday & Sunday rest
• Shift 4: Monday or Friday rest, 4x with day shift / Saturday & Sunday rest

5-week cycle

We expect to receive a daily rate including shift work.
