You will be the technical reference for the teams and take charge of aspects related to architecture, infrastructure, integration, and continuous deployment. This role therefore combines managerial and technical responsibilities. You will be assisted by the steering committee for key decisions, whether technical or managerial.

You will be responsible for supervising mixed and heterogeneous teams, both in the development of software applications and in the implementation and maintenance of IT system infrastructure.

Among the teams you will be responsible for, there are teams in charge of maintaining legacy applications, teams developing new application solutions, and teams responsible for systems, networks, infrastructure, data storage, and DevOps.

You will report directly to the head of the IT Factory of the General Directorate of Judicial Police, the IT center of expertise at the Federal Police.

Main Missions

For the supervision of teams responsible for maintaining legacy software solutions, maintaining a Legacy application (heavy Windows client):

  • You will familiarize yourself with the existing setup and propose technical suggestions aimed at stabilizing certain parts of the Legacy applications.

  • You will supervise the teams responsible for migrating functionalities present in other solutions to the Legacy application, ensuring compatibility with the same technological foundation.

  • You will supervise the integration of migrated functionalities with other application modules as well as with external systems where data collection or transmission is required.

  • You will ensure that the Legacy applications remain compatible with upcoming versions of Windows and that their behavior is stable during execution.

At the same time, you will supervise the team responsible for analyzing the new solution and actively participate in its technical aspects.

You will supervise the teams responsible for implementing the new solution based on a web and responsive approach:

  • You will supervise backend and frontend developments, as well as the implementation of unit and integration tests.

  • You will ensure that the source code is properly versioned and that the technical documentation is prepared by the teams.

  • You will oversee the DevOps aspect and the setup of deployment pipelines for applications, services, and infrastructure (IaC).

You will also supervise the teams responsible for infrastructure, networks, systems, integration, and continuous deployment.

You master authentication mechanisms via OpenID Connect and O365, for both backend services and frontend applications.

You have proven experience in CI/CD and setting up deployment pipelines with GitLab. You master GIT and are familiar with the concepts of branches, pull requests, and code reviews.

Experience in IaC (Infrastructure as Code) is a significant asset.

Knowledge of Delphi and Windows application development is a significant asset.

Knowledge in cryptography is also an asset.
